Nato nel Sud-Italia, Al-Maranca è un polistrumentista, cantante, cantautore e producer che ha fatto parte della scena musicale londinese negli ultimi 14 anni, lavorando con alcuni artisti di fama internazionale: Buddy Miles (Hendrix, Santana), producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy, Paolo Nutini) folk singer Polly Paulusma, Rumenian popstar Damien Draghici, Alex Pascal (BBC), Zoe Rahman (Mobo 2012), Davide Mantovani e molti altri artisti e musicisti di ogni genere e razza, mentre Al portava la propria musica in tutta Europa e nel Mediterraneo. Nel 2004 forma la band Round Colored Note, nome derivato dalla lettura di “Misticismo di suono e musica” di Hazrath Hinayat. La band è stata formata attraverso alcune jam session in un locale di musica live chiamato Bar Kahn, in Stoke Newington, cuore della comunità turca a Londra.
L’album di debutto con i RCN “From poison to medicine”, esce nel 2008 ed è ancora amato da molti. Dopo alcuni anni di pausa,Al, all’inizio del 2013, decide di riunire la band con i membri originale, mentre passa dal suonare il basso al “saz”.
